Seventh Annual Healthcare Leaders Summit and Retreat
Location: Bachelor Gulch, Colorado
Dates: June 2-6, 2008
For the past seven years, MPM has hosted an annual event for its CEOs, in Bermuda, Key Biscayne, FL and now in Beaver Creek, CO. Beyond empowering the individuals who manage the companies in which we've invested, the annual Healthcare Leaders Summit and Retreat is designed to produce conversations – about the future of the industry, the political climate, and trends that may be harbingers of change as well as to provide a forum in which potential partnerships discussions are catalyzed. Rubbing elbows with our portfolio companies are industry leaders, Nobel prize laureates, scions of industry and academia, our scientific advisory board members, potential strategic partners, top business development representatives of big pharma and big biotech, as well as a select group of sponsors representing key service providers for our industries – from audit and legal to PR and research. Since 2002, over 1500 individuals have participated in the invitation-only event, and each year, attendance has grown. Guest speakers have included top authors, such as Stephen Dubner of FREAKONOMICS; Richard Preston of THE HOT ZONE, and this year, Michael Lewis of Liar's Poker and Money Ball; top political personalities such as Mark McClellan, former FDA Commissioner and Scott McClellan in his first address after leaving the White House as Press Secretary. In 2008, the first week in June, MPM hosted top big pharma/big biotech/big medtech executives; CEOs of MPM's portfolio companies, industry leaders and former CEOs, as well as many of MPM's Limited Partners who came to participate in Annual Investor Meetings, and then stayed to network in the healthcare leaders community we attract. The event is invitation-only. For more information about the 2009 Healthcare Leaders Summit and Retreat, please contact a MPM Managing Director or Investment Professional.
