Kazumi Shiosaki, Ph.D.Dr. Kazumi Shiosaki is an Managing Director at MPM and President and Chief Executive Officer of Primera Biosciences, Inc. She joined MPM as a full-time Venture Partner in 2003, having served as an MPM Entrepreneur in Residence since 2001 while also holding the position of Senior Vice President of Scientific Development at Millennium Pharmaceuticals, and prior to that, Senior Vice President of Drug Discovery. She is currently serving as Interim Chief Scientific Officer for Sention, (MPM portfolio company focused on memory). Dr. Shiosaki brings to MPM nearly 17 years of experience in the pharmaceutical-biotechnology industry, with a career that began at Abbott Laboratories where she worked on drug discovery programs in a number of therapeutic areas including Neuroscience, Cardiovascular, and Infectious Disease. Dr. Shiosaki received her Ph.D. in Synthetic Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley and a B.S. from Whitman College. |
